Christian Songs Been Jamming to Thousand Foot Krutch Lately

Thousand Foot Krutch Songs, I've really been diggin TFK lately. Thought I'd post a couple of videos from the excellent Christian rock band.

Here is an older one Rawkfist from the Thousand Foot Krutch album "Phenomenon." Someone on you tube was nice enough to upload it.

Thousand Foot Krutch Songs - Rawkfist

Rawkfist is great but this new one "Fire it Up" is really good too. I hate to admit but I haven't added "Welcome to the Masquerade" to my disc collection just yet but I will have to get it.

Thousand Foot Krutch Songs - Fire it Up

Thousand Foot Krutch lyrics can be inspiring and thought provoking. They are a talented Christian rock band and its nice to hear them featured in anything from video games to movie trailers.

God Songs - My History of Christian Music

An interesting history of Christian music I found on Ezine.

God Songs - My History of Christian Music

God Songs - My History of Christian Music
By James Scott

Christian contemporary music has gone through many changes over the years. The origins can be found mainly during the Jesus Movement of the late 60's. Artists like Larry Norman paved the way for the many Christian music artists of today. During that time there were also songs released on the mainstream airwaves that praised Jesus and got his message out there. Songs like "Put Your Hand in the Hand" by Ocean even made it high in the hot 100 and were really getting exposure. There was resistance however many people didn't believe the life style that rock stars generally led could mix with the message being told. Even with the detractors the popularity of these God songs continued to rise and more people began to be won over.

Unfortunately as popularity continued to rise the bandwagon effect became apparent. Some bands who may not have been talented enough to make it mainstream were releasing some sub par God songs. Due to there not being many Christian bands these albums were being released to try and fill a void. This is a problem that many fledgling music genres see. Were these bands truly trying to deliver Christ's message or trying to make a quick buck? Only God know what's in the heart of man.

The questionable artists were soon outnumbered by real talents. Christian artists like Petra, an early pioneer in Christian rock formed in 1972, started to gain popularity in the eighties. Petra essentially set the bar for future Christian bands. The quality of God songs being released by Christian bands really started to improve. More and more people were finding quality Christian music that fit their tastes.

Petra's popularity carried well in to the nineties. More and more styles were being incorporated into Christian music. DC Talk went from Christian hip hop to more of a grunge sound. T-Bone started to release a Christian alternative to gangsta rap. The nineties were the beginnings of a great time in Christian music. Today Christian music is a widely accepted and popular music genre. The style has evolved right along with other popular music. Bands like Jars of Clay release albums that debut on the billboard mainstream chart. Christian music artists star in feature films like T-Bone in "The Fighting Temptations." God songs are regularly featured in popular mainstream television shows. There will always be detractors, but this should not discourage people from checking out Christian music.

Christian music has much to offer. There really is something for everyone. For more information about God songs check out my God songs blog.

Memorial Day

With coming up I Just want to take a moment to thank all who paid the ultimate sacrifice so I can have the freedom to occasionally update this blog and do pretty much whatever else I please. Without the great sacrifice of the wonderful men and women our liberties would be lost so I say and .

This is the video for 8th of November by Big & Rich I think it is a good tribute to those who have fought, I know most of us cannot imagine what it was like, nor does our gratitude even begin to equal the price they paid, I think we at least owe them a thank you though. Find more at

Just to clarify some things about my Christian Music Blog

Just a quick note I want to make it clear I am writing this blog just to recommend music that I own and like. Not all recommendations are strictly some songs and albums I recommend will be by secular bands that have songs that glorify the Lord. I am a and as such do hope that if even if one person reads this that they will check out some of the music I discuss. I am not exactly looking to convert the world, but if the message just gets out to even a few I feel I am doing some good. The bands and the are good even if you are not a check them out.

If anyone else has a problem feel free to comment and I'll deal with it. If it involves arguments on my specifically please comment at .

I feel Most of the artists I recommend such as share similar views as I do that the people that need the Gospel the most are under served. Music is a great tool to reach everyone.

Any comments are welcome

Thank you and God Bless!

Welcome to my Christian Music Blog

Hello My name is Jim and I would like to discuss some of my favorite Christian music. Today as a start I'm gonna tell everyone they should get T bones discs, the one below is the first one I got and it's great . I saw him in the Fighting Temptations and he was great T Bone is a true Christian rap talent that could flow with any of the mainstream guys without a problem, even if rap is not your thing check this disk out it's good my mom even likes it.

If you haven't seen the fighting temptations yet you should definitely see it too. A very good movie that makes you think about what makes a Christian a Christian. Really what makes a good person a good person period.

Well I have to go for now but I recommend these 2. If anyone has any opinions other recommendations or the like feel free to post. I am only going to talk about primarily Christian music movies etc on this blog thanks for your time.
